It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, isn’t it! 😀 We don’t have, nor will ever have, snow in Singapore, but everything becomes soft and beautiful and magical this time of the year, as if someone waved a fairy wand to tell the people of the land that tis’ the season for kindling the fire of hospitality.
I can’t wait to host the many parties we have planned for the coming months! It’s so exciting to finally have a place of our own. Where I sat to take this series of photos will, in a couple of weeks, sit our TV console, TV and vintage peripherals Mr Mode and I have amassed over a year. Now we’re running the last leg of house cleaning and can move in soon!
Before Christmas comes……. PRESENTS! >.< Ah, it’s always a headache for me when it comes to buying gifts – I’m really bad at it. Oh, except when it comes to buying beauty products. Yes, then I know exactly what to buy for who. Hahaha!
Thank you for your support for my Gumtree shop! I’ve added more items and I’m sure you’ll find an item or two (or 5 hoho) to gift your friends.
Oooohhh!! Won’t you have a look at these cute little squishy sponges? ^_^ Heehee they’re so colorful and soft, they make me smile when I look at them. I kept 4 new ones for myself, adding to the 2 I already have. They are slightly more dense than the original BeautyBlenders (which you can also get from my Gumtree profile), but at fraction of the price. I’d recommend you give it a try!
They’re going for $3 each and you can choose from 9 colors. Each are packed individually.
A girl and her falsies are best friends. The Eyemazing Lashes are up on my shop too and are going for $14 each. They retail for $21.90 each. So that’s almost 40% off retail price.
Here are just some of the items available on ==> http://profile.gumtree.sg/bunbunmakeup
You can also follow me so that you’ll be the first to know when new items are up for sale. Here are some of the new items up on the shop. There are currently more than 50 SKUs.
5 Tips For New Sellers
I thought these tips might benefit those of you interested to set up your own account on Gumtree. It’s very easy to set up an account, but more can be done to increase your chances of getting your items sold.
Tip 1: Give It A Good Name
Instead of just ‘furniture’, try ‘mid century coffee table with pencil legs’. Such targeted keywords as ‘mid century’, ‘coffee table’, and ‘pencil legs’ will make your item more prominent in the search results and draw the right crowd. Since the keyword search would more closely match your title, there would be a higher chance of closing a deal. This is really just like SEO. Haha.
Tip 2: Price It Well
Remember that Gumtree is a huge marketplace for the selling and trading of goods and services. You can find new, handmade, pre-loved, pre-order items, so price your ware accordingly. Do a bit of market research, know what’s it selling for in stores and online.
Use bundle prices – for example, my Lioele Eye Pencils retail for $12.90 each. On Gumtree exclusively, they’re going for 1 for $6, 2 for $10.
Tip 3: Better Description
When it comes to items such as clothing, furniture, shoes, it would be good to provide dimensions. Don’t just state ‘M size’, or ‘computer table’. Furniture measurements are very important, coming from a new home owner. 🙂 Clear product specifications and descriptions will help potential customers decide faster.
Tip 4: Take Nice Photos
No blurry pictures, obviously. Make sure the product can be seen clearly, and if there are details you’d like to highlight, a close-up shot would be good. For clothes, a picture of a model would be ideal but if that’s not possible, you still can make do with a nicely ironed and hung apparel against a clean background. If you’re taking product shots, try using a plain or white background.
Tip 5: Reply promptly
The private chat function on the Gumtree app makes it easy and convenient to chat with customers on the go. You can set the meeting details to seal the deal without revealing your personal details. Of course, you can also complete the transaction without meeting at all i.e. paying online / mailing out.
As I do have a day job, it will be pretty difficult for me to do meetups, so I’ll mail your items to you! Because it’s Christmas, actually even if it’s not Christmas HAHA, I’ll put a gift into your bag (and seal it with a kiss).
From your most recent searches, Gumtree will show new and relevant results so that you may one day find what you want, and more. I guess it’s obvious what I’ve been browsing recently lol.
THAT’S ME! 😀 When you go to my page, you’ll see some items stamped with ‘GUMTREE EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNT’. These items are either exclusively available on Gumtree or are at a discounted price from my online store.
You can tap on ‘Users’ to check out the other exclusive sellers too.
When you have your own account, you can edit your profile and upload your own banner, kinda like Dayre (You follow me there, right?). 🙂
The top 3 items on my Christmas wishlist are:
- Bicycle – So that I can cycle to my parents’ or in-laws’ place to have dinner and exercise at the same time
- eBook Reader – I love the feel of books, but they’re really heavy and inconvenient to bring around!
- Beautiful and functional kitchenware – Just because 😆
And I shall buy them all myself. Go women empowerment! Lol. Actually all I want for Christmas is to move into our new home, have better health, nicer skin, lose belly fat. Not too much to ask for what. HOHOHO.
I know Christmas shopping can be quite a stressful event, so I hope you do find something nice in my Gumtree store!
Have yourself a Merry Christmas!
